The Caribbean Guyana Institute for Democracy (CGID) has noted the letters in the public domain, written by Guyana’s Attorney General, Anil Nandlall, to the US State Department, the FBI and to US Attorney General Merrick Garland, which contain some fantastic and completely false allegations against CGID President Mr. Rickford Burke.
In those letters, Anil Nandlall, brazenly and knowingly made a series of false allegations which he completely fabricated in order to frame Mr. Burke to get the US government to pursue his personal vendetta against Mr. Burke.
Mr. Burke has been calling for justice for the murder of Courtney Crum Ewing, the 1400 young Black men who were killed by the PPP death squad in a genocide against the African Guyanese population. Nandlall and another PPP government official have been investigated for the murder of Courtney Crum Ewing.
CGID wishes to remind the Guyanese and US public, that Anil Nandlall has been under investigation by the FBI and the NYPD for participating on July 5, 2021, in a plot in Queens, New York, to allegedly hire a hitman to kill Mr. Burke after Mr. Burke staged a fiery protest against him the day before. Mr. Nandlall was once listed as “wanted” by the NYPD. All of the subsequent actions by the Guyana Police Force and Nandlall to frame Mr. Burke are therefore retaliatory.
However, what Anil Nandlall did not know when he intentionally attempted to mislead the FBI and the United States government with his official correspondences laced with despicable lies, was that the allegations he fabricated were referred to the FBI last year for investigation. CGID provided the entire Guyana Police Force case file with statements and video recordings of Police Interviews to US law enforcement. These allegations were investigated by the FBI, and the FBI concluded that they were “nonsense.”
What will Nandlall and the Guyana Government do when the findings of the FBI investigation into Nandlall’s false claims are made public?
This includes a false, sworn statement by Guyana Police Corporal 24611 Lewis, who lied to the East Coast Demerara Magistrate, that Mr. Burke was in Guyana between August and September 2022, and committed a crime at Lusignan, East Coast Demerara, Guyana. Mr. Burke has not traveled to Guyana in twenty-five years. (See the attached document that Guyana government agents left on Mr. Burke’s steps which were later retrieved by the FBI, of which CGID obtained a copy).
This lie was told to trick the Magistrate into signing a false summons. Under the laws of Guyana a Magistrate cannot sign a summons that is directed to a person outside of Guyana. They later brought this false summons to Mr. Burke’s Brooklyn residence, although it was directed to the fake address in Guyana where Corporal Lewis falsely told the Magistrate Mr. Burke lived.
The deceitful, corrupt, and criminal actions of the Guyana Police Force and Anil Nandlall in this matter constitute a dangerous assault on, and abuse of, the criminal justice system in Guyana and the United States.
Lying to Federal Agents is a felony. We call on the US Justice Department to arrest and prosecute Anil Nandlall for blatantly lying to the FBI and the US Justice Department.
