The Guyana Chess Federation, in partnership with International Import & Supplies, is set to host the second installment of the 2024 GCF Grand Prix series this February. The event, scheduled over two weekends at the National Stadium, Providence, promises intense competition with 8 rounds of chess under a time control of 90 minutes plus an additional 30 seconds per move. With a prize fund of $70,000, the tournament will see both seasoned and emerging players vying for top honors in open and female divisions. This FIDE-rated event not only offers a platform for local talent to enhance their international ratings but also serves as a crucial qualifier for the upcoming 45th Chess Olympiad in Budapest.
