China is willing to continue to strengthen strategic coordination with Belarus, promote pragmatic cooperation and continue to deepen China-Belarus relations, Chinese President Xi Jinping said during a meeting with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in Beijing on Monday.

The two sides should implement projects such as the China-Belarus Industrial Park and promote China-Belarus industrial cooperation to achieve more results, improve the level of cross-border transportation facilitation and promote economic and trade and people-to-people exchanges, Xi said.

He also proposed organizing regular cultural days, expanding cooperation in education, health, sports, and tourism, and supporting exchanges between young people from both countries to enhance mutual understanding and friendship.

China and Belarus are important forces involved in the reform and construction of the global governance system, he noted.

Xi said China is willing to strengthen coordination and cooperation with Belarus in multilateral mechanisms such as the United Nations and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and promote the implementation of the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative, as well as the building of a global community of shared future.

President Lukashenko conveyed his country’s sincere hope for China’s continued development, emphasizing the benefits it brings to global peace and progress.

Belarus affirmed its commitment to friendly relations with China, expressing readiness for more high-level exchanges, mutual support, deepened cooperation, and enhanced international and multilateral strategic coordination. (CGTN)
