Christians cannot condone barbarism and war crimes of Hamas, nor shameless bias of complicit media personalities

An Open Letter on the Campbellville Basketball Court: A Project That Overlooked Its Community

Dear Editor,
I noted the comments by unnamed columnist “Peeping Tom” (KN 10/15/23; “Guyana Must Sever All Diplomatic Ties With The State Of Israel”) and would appreciate the opportunity to rebut.
I have noticed the disturbing trend in the past three years for the local press to censor (meaning not publish) content not in line with those of, say, “Peeping Tom” of today October 15, 2023 (“Guyana must sever all diplomatic ties with the State of Israel”) … which contention is patent foolishness in itself.
I am optimistic, however, that letter-writers with closer ties than Jhagroo Persaud of India (KN 10/14/23; “Standing With Israel”) or those with “access” like the unnamed “Peeping Tom” can STILL respond in this publication and have their views heard.
I will be brief, since we have prosecuted this argument before … this treatment of Israel by the Iranian-backed Hamas in the Gaza Strip, and by the similarly-Iranian-backed Hezbollah in Lebanon, as an object for target practice over the past decades.
Fourteen years after our last published comment on the issue, Hamas’ tactics, and their expectation of the world’s gullibility, are still the same.
Any new slant Hamas and Hezbollah would have brought to their effort is their increased barbarism … on October 7th 2023 killing 1,300 defenseless Israelis at a music festival, killing and beheading babies and soldiers in nearby settlements, and yet still kidnapping 200 others to parade before their adoring supporters in Gaza.
Nothing ever changes in diseased minds of Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran (formerly Persia) … and the similarity of events more than a decade distant proves the point.
We last addressed this matter in the KN article of January 10th, 2009 (“The people were not consulted… again. Why weren’t the people consulted?”: https://www.kaieteurnewsonline.com/2009/01/10/the-people-were-not-
consulted%E2%80%A6-again-why-weren%E2%80%99t-the-people-consulted/ ).
The civilian population in Gaza is NOT blameless! With dismay, I re-read today this observation made in that previous  letter 14 years ago: “It is clear to all but the politically blind and/or duplicitous that Hamas’ hypocrisy and treachery has led to this “Red Sea” of its own making in Gaza. And they don’t seem to care about their own people (who foolishly elected them to power on a promise of continued aggression against Israel), choosing to use them as human shields in a contemptible terrorist agenda.”
It’s time to end this target practice, this barbarism, this inhumanity by Iran and its proxies Hamas and Hezbollah. It’s time to eradicate the disease of terrorism used as a weapon against God’s people in Israel. Israel will do that THIS time!
However, there is still one chance for Iran, and the members of Hamas and Hezbollah. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance!
Iran, Hamas and Hezbollah should and must repent now, return all the hostages and ask for forgiveness … for the hour of their sure destruction looms in the near distance should they not!
Yours truly,
Roger Williams
