Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday held talks in Xian with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan, who began his state visit to China earlier in the day.
President Xi warmly welcomed President Tokayev to China for the China-Central Asia Summit and a state visit. Xi expressed his pleasure at hosting President Tokayev and wished him on his birthday. The Kazakh president turned 70 on Wednesday.
Xi said that President Tokayev’s state visit to China on this special occasion speaks volumes of the strength of the bilateral ties and once again attests to his unique bond with China.
China-Kazakhstan relations have entered the next three golden decades, Xi stressed, adding that the two sides should vigorously carry forward the traditional friendship, firmly support each other, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, pursue development and rejuvenation, and build a China-Kazakhstan community with a shared future featuring everlasting friendship, strong mutual trust and solidarity.
