Ryan Dhanpat, a 34-year-old Labourer of Smythfield Village, New Amsterdam, Berbice, was apprehended Monday afternoon by police ranks during a roadblock exercise at the Berbice Bridge access road.
Dhanpat was a passenger in a hire car HC 9269 which was being driven by a 38-year-old hire car driver of Cumberland, East Canje, Berbice.
Dhanpat was told of an allegation, which alleged that on Sunday 12 March 2023 at West Canje Berbice, he murdered Kevin Small.
He was arrested and escorted to the Central Police Station where he was placed into custody as investigations continued.
