Over 250 Melanie families to secure land titles through regularisation exercise

I extend happy Phagwah to all and I wish to encourage Guyanese to embrace this time for unity, love, and peace.
Phagwah or Holi in the City of Georgetown and the Country at large is one of our many religious festivals that brings us joy and happiness in our communities as we witness persons of different ethnic groups and religious beliefs join Hindus to celebrate.
In a time of significant struggle and economic growth in our country, the rejuvenation of our kindred spirits during this holiday brings us together to fight against prejudice and inequality. The spirit of Holi is manifested to strengthen our nation from division and reassures mankind that unholy acts & architects of injustices will be conquered by the force of truth.
We must reflect on our past and look towards a future of togetherness and inclusivity, for the realization of our national motto “one people, one nation and one destiny” as we embrace our cultural diversity.
This festival should urge all leaders, especially political leaders to allow the festival to bind and unite us as one for the benefit of ALL Guyanese. It is time to put aside indifferences and spread peace and goodwill in our nation.
I encourage leaders to work towards a common goal and purpose that will bring prosperity to all classes of Guyanese to ensure their safety and well-being.
Happy Holi one and all!
Stay safe, play safe!
