The Institute for Action Against Discrimination is honoured to wish the people of Guyana a joyous 186th Indian Arrival Day. This historic occasion commemorates the arrival of the first Indian indentured labourers to what was then British Guiana in 1838.
“The contributions of the Indo-Guyanese have been integral to the cultural richness and economic prosperity of Guyana,” said vice chairman Pt.Ubraj Narine.
“Indian Arrival Day serves as a poignant reminder of the resilience and determination shown by generations of Indian immigrants who helped build the nation we know today.”
