What if retaliation against PPP abuses of Black people happens? Will those who are silent today remain silent

Dear Editor,

It is clear that the PPP has shown no respect for the people, leadership, property or women of African descent in Guyana. Their recent demolition of a 46-year-old PNC office building in Lethem is a testament to their gross disregard for Afro-Guyanese citizens. Despite the increasing number of atrocities the PPP commits against African people, the world remains silent, leaving Black people in Guyana to suffer yet another day of oppression.  Black people will not suffer their egregious evil forever, the reckoning will come when it is least expected.

Labour Day Divide: Patronage, Power, and the Betrayal of Workers

Just a few weeks ago, women and children in Mocha watched in horror as their homes were demolished, animals were killed and buried, and their lands were stolen. To make matters worse, land lease transactions at Mocha, which were being processed since 2019, have all been put on hold. It is evident that the corrupt regime is attempting to transfer African ancestral properties to their supporters, as these lands have now become more valuable.

The PPP continues to use cowardly Black people against their own, as they are the ones paid to be the demolishers, and the purveyors of evil.  God forgive them for they live on a pittance and feel like they have no choice, they are cowardly collaborators of evil.

Black people would still be an enslaved people today, if the cowardly collaborators back then had had their way. Young (African) people who protested at Mon Repos are being charged with terrorism while those who East Indian protestors who attacked police officers are allowed to carry on with their lives.  Black women who have been subjected to abuse and spitting by East Indian men have received no justice. Furthermore, as Black people’s lands are being confiscated, the police force is being weaponized against Black citizens. All the while “Supporters of democracy” who opposed rigging of elections remain silent, allowing the PPP to continue their reign of terror against Black people who developed this land for 200 years before they arrived here.

The PPP’s actions are making the country unsafe for citizens, investors, their children and ours. These evil men are sowing the wind, and we can only hope that they will not flee to a foreign land when it is time to reap the whirlwind. May God help this nation.
