Mr. Nascimento was clearly ill-advised, lied to and misguided

Dear Editor,

I read a letter to the editor carried by the Guyana Times newspaper on Thursday, 2nd March, 2023 written by Mr. Kit Nascimento with the caption, “Region 4 Chairman and REO’s disagreement,” and wish to respond to the 6th paragraph of the letter.

Mr. Nascimento in the 6th paragraph of the letter stated, “Mr. Seeram then went on to claim credit for consultation leading to decisions, but it was shortly after making that point that he in fact, as my enquiries later revealed, departed entirely from the programme agreed upon between himself and the REO Gajraj, doing exactly the opposite.”

Mr. Kit Nascimento was clearly ill-advised, lied to and misguided. The programmes of all National and Other Events are approved by the RDC Council after being agreed to by the National and Other Events Committee of the RDC. The approved programme which was submitted to the REO, for him to send out invitations and copies of the programme to the invitees, never happened. What happened instead was, on the day of the event, I was presented with a totally different programme.

Notwithstanding the above, the duly elected Councillors of the  Regional Democratic Council successfully passed a motion of No-Confidence in the Clerk of Council and Regional Executive Officer, Mr. Donald Gajraj.

In conclusion, Mr. Nascimento should be careful of the people who advises him for I know he is a man of high standing and great relevance.
