Her home collapsed about 30 years ago but due to lack of financial resources she had no other choice but to find comfort in the same structure which is leaning dangerously.

The entire structure was demolished today and construction will commence tomorrow Tuesday 3rd January, 2023. All works are expected to be completed within one week.

According to a release by the Regional Democratic Council Region Five, Information Department, the Men on Mission team is spearheaded by Hon. Faizal Jaffarally (M.P) with funding from several Stakeholders from Region 5.

This is the second house constructed by the Men on Mission team, since its launch.

The woman who was very emotional when the Men On Mission team arrived at her home noted that she is grateful for the efforts and support from the Government and other stakeholders that will enable her to live comfortably.

Member of Parliament, Faizal Jafarally, recalled receiving a call about the woman’s plight and visited her to assess the situation. He said that based on what he observed, he immediately gathered resources and solicited help from the Men On Mission to assist the elderly woman in securing a better home.

The Men On Mission team started demolition of the old structure yesterday after which construction of an elevated structure will commence tomorrow. When completed, the building will consist of a bedroom, kitchen, Hallway, and Washroom facility, and fully furnished. Electricity and water supply will also be added. The building is expected to be completed by next weekend.

Jafarally used the opportunity to thank the Men On Mission team for responding to his request promptly and coming out in their numbers to assist in the project.
