Minister of Local Government and Regional Development, Sonia Parag lead the welcome home party, who met the champions at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA). She told the team members the investment they made in their talent and ability has made this country beyond proud.

“We want you to know that. We want you to understand that” the minister said to an appreciative audience. She also reminded the young ladies that they are positive examples to the younger generation and urged them to continue on their path and remain consistent.

Acknowledging the pivotal moment in history, President of the Guyana Cricket Board, Bissoondyal Singh, said the tournament has not only showcased the incredible talent of young female cricketers but also set the stage for the future of women’s cricket in Guyana.

“This victory is not just a win on the field but a testament to the potential and the talent of women’s cricket in Guyana,” he stressed.

Also, part of the celebration were other members of the cricket fraternity, government minister and well-wishers.
