The Vile Charandass Affair is the tip of the Iceberg

Dear Editor,

There must be a reason why ABC embassies, the most powerful embassies in Guyana, have sent us woman leaders.  Perhaps it is to help our leaders understand how to respect women.  Guyanese leaders have no respect for Guyanese women and it shows.  Now it turns out that they have exported their contempt for women internationally.

The Charandass affair is just the tip of the iceberg.  There are many more of these vile stories of abuse of women that are hidden from Guyanese taxpayers. The reason why this is so is because the PPP does not hire or engage talent based on merit.  They often identify their most rabid and almost always unqualified male supporters, for some of the most important jobs both in Guyana and overseas.

Secondly, it is clear that Charandass thought he was dealing with a powerless Indian woman, you hear it in the disdain, contempt and abuse in his voice. I shudder to think of what goes on behind closed doors.

Even as he skillfully navigated the Indian and Guyanese legal systems, he thought he was home free.  The voting, taxpaying citizens did not agree.  This is another reason why the PPP hides these issues from Guyanese citizens.  The president’s claim of not seeing the video until recently also strains credibility. God help us all.
