The Miss Linden Youth Ambassador 2022 and the Miss Big Bold and Beautiful 2022 pledge to commence charity work and to become positive influencers in their community.

Zalika Samuels of Amelia’s Ward Linden is the new reigning Miss Linden Youth Ambassador who is confident that one day she will represent Guyana and walk the Miss Universe stage.

In an interview with Village Voice News, the 19-year-old who is elated about her win said it is an honour to hold the title, Miss Linden Youth Ambassador. Although this was Samuel’s first time competing in a pageant, the optimist said it was not challenging for her since she became infatuated by pageantry since age 16.

“Coming into the competition was not a challenge for me because I am a quick learner so I flowed from the beginning of the pageant to the end. Before I decided to enter this pageant I would always sit and watch the Miss Universe, I watched how they walk, I watched how they speak. I do entertain myself with pageantry,” Samuel related.

The newly crowned queen shared that it has always been her dream to walk the Miss Universe stage. She went on to say that taking part in the Miss Linden Youth Ambassador pageant was one step closer to her dream. “It has always been my dream to one day walk the Miss Universe stage and this is just the stepping stone for me to showcase to the world what I have and for higher greatness,” she noted.

Additionally, the Christian said that she used her platform to show persons that you can have fun in the kingdom of God. “Throughout the competition my main focus was to show young people that being in the kingdom if God is not boring because you can have clean fun too,” she stated.

The aspiring teacher described herself as diplomatic, educated, passionate and submissive. Her advice to persons is to follow their dreams. My advice for anyone is follow your dream. Use my example as a stepping stone. Do not let anyone tell you that you cannot do something, always belief in yourself that you can,” Samuels posited.

The new Miss Linden Youth Ambassador indicated that she will use her platform to get involve in charity, working with teens and the elderly.

Meanwhile, Jenel Pollydore Bizzeth of Speigthland, Linden was crowned Miss Big Bold and Beautiful 2022. The mother of two expressed that she is grateful to God for her win of what was a new but great experience for her.

“This was all a new experience for me because I never competed in a pageant before. The experience was like stepping out of your comfort zoon and be a confident and bold person, it was a great experience,” Pollydore related.

The newly crowned queen noted that she has always been confident in her own skin. However, public speaking was always a challenge for her but thanks to the competition she has somewhat conquered that hurdle.

“Even though I am a teacher, public speaking in front of adults was a new experience for me and I was a bit fearful but after joining the competition and winning it motivated me and give me more confidence to know that anything I put my mind to do I can do,” she explained.

The teacher of four years shared that her decision to enter the pageant came from her desire to help other “big girls” to become confident in their own skin. Pollydore went on to say, “When I think about body positivity I think that everyone should have the assertion that no matter their body type or how they look that they are perfect in their own way.” The Miss Big, Bold and Beautiful Queen who described herself as beautiful, intelligent, optimistic, confident and one in million said that she will use her platform to become a body positive influencer. “The more confident a woman is, the more they get out of life,” Pollydore said.
