Sophia shooting victim succumbs to injury

A North Sophia labourer succumbed to a gunshot wound he sustained during a shooting incident close to two weeks ago.
Dead is 27-year-oldYardan Jacobsof lot 5S North Sophia. Jacobs died on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at around 17:00hrs while receiving treatment at the Georgetown Public Hospital. Jacobs was shot at around 00:00hrs on April 16, 2022 at Tanary, North Sophia.

Police investigation has thus far revealed that Jacobs was liming at Tanary, North Sophia along with his cousin Steve Bacchus when he got into an argument with the suspect. As a result, Bacchus intervened which caused the suspect to pull out a firearm from his pants pocket and discharged several rounds in the direction of the two cousins. Jacobs received a gunshot wound to his lower back.

Police Corporal 20844 Brown visited GPHC on on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at about 18:00hrs to check on the victim and was informed by a medical personnel on duty that Jacobs succumbed to his injury. The body of the deceased is at the Georgetown Public Hospital mortuary awaiting PME.
