Twenty-eight-year-old Lester Leander, a miner of Lot 337 Wisroc Housing Scheme, Wismar Linden was on Tuesday sentenced to three years imprisonment for the offense of setting fire to a dwelling house, when he appeared before Magistrate Wanda Fortune at the Linden Magistrate’s Court via Zoom.
Leander was arrested on 2022-01-29 and charged on 2022-02-01 for the offence which was committed on the dwelling house of Tricia Glen of Obama Drive, Squatting Area, South Amelia’s Ward Linden which occurred between 2022-01-28 and 2022-01-29. He was charged under Section 141 of the Criminal Law Offences Act Chapter 8:01 and today plead guilty after the AJA was applied and the magistrate subsequently handed down the sentence.
