In a letter to the Members of Parliament on October 29, Isaacs disclosed that in his absence, the Deputy Clerk of the National Assembly, Hermina Gilgeours, will perform the duties of the Clerk. In the correspondence, Isaacs did not divulge information on the nature of the official visit.

However, when contacted by Village Voice News on Saturday, October 30, Isaacs explained that he will be accompanying the Speaker of the National Assembly, Manzoor Nadir, to Dubai based on an invitation from the Speaker there.

“I am accompanying the Honourable Speaker, who has been invited by the Speaker of the Parliament of Dubai,” Isaacs told this newspaper. He said based on the agenda seen, the visit is intended to establish a partnership with Dubai.
