Bandits hijack car at Rasville

Bandits Monday hijacked a taxi driver’s car at Rasville.

In a press release police said enquiries disclosed that the victim uses the said motorcar as a private hire and according to him, he was at  Georgetown Public Hospital with the said motor car when one of the perpetrators approached him and requested his service to go to Back School in West.

The man then sat in the front passenger seat and they proceeded to the location where on arrival the passenger placed a call and further requested to be taken to Rasville next to the New Guyana School.

Upon arrival at the said location as the victim stopped the car, the other person appeared, placed a gun at the his head and demanded that he exit his motorcar which he did.

The man with the gun then went into the driver’s seat and they both made good their escape.

The cellular phone and cash mentioned were in the motor car’s middle pocket at the time.

Investigations are in progress.
