Joint Services looking to strengthen security in Baramita village

Joint Services ranks have discussed with the Baramita Village Council, Region One, the possibility of establishing a Joint Services base in Baramita; establishing a youth group in the area and other measures which could strengthen security at the Baramita Village.

The Joint Services discuss these matters with leaders in the Region on Sunday, March 14, 2021. On that day, a joint team comprising Superintendent K. Mandall, Commander Region One; Deputy Commander, M. Vigilance and Divisional Detective Inspector, C .Cort, met with Deputy Regional Executive Officer, Mr S. Cuffy, the Prime Minister’s Office Representative for Region 1, Ms Lambert, the Village Toshao/Captain, Sharmain Rambajue, and the Baramita Village Council.

Apart from the aforementioned topics, they also discussed the possibility of the Joint Services ranks occupying the bottom flat of the community’s multi-purpose building temporarily; the ending of the sale of alcohol to underage children and the cautioning of business owners to desist from such practices; greater provision of information to Joint Services ranks about criminal gangs, and building a better Police/Community relationship.

During the meeting, several questions were asked and appropriate answers were given.
