The Ministry is also appealing to the general public to respect the confidentiality of the deceased and his family and to allow them to mourn their tragic loss in peace.

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Guyana surpassed 9,000 on Friday and is now at 9 121. According to the Ministry’s statistical report, five persons remain in the COVID-19 ICU while 32 persons are in institutional isolation and another 591 persons in home isolation. Eight persons, the Ministry said, are in institutional quarantine.
