Another toddler critical after run over by father’s car

One day after a toddler was crushed to death by his ffather’s truck another one was on Sunday injured in similar fashion at another East Coast Demerara village.

The Guyana Police Force  in a a release said that ranks are  currently investigating an incident involving Danny Ramkissoon a taxi driver of Vryheid’s Lust, ECD and his eighteen-months old daughter Adena Ramkissoon which occurred  Sunday morning.
Enquiries disclosed that Danny Ramkissoon operates a home-based taxi service. As he was about to leave home on a taxi work using his white  Raum motor car; he reportedly felt as though his vehicle ran over something.

He stopped, exited the vehicle and on checking he observed his daughter (victim) lying motionless under the left rear side of the car. He called out for his wife after which  they picked up the child and rushed her to the Georgetown Public Hospital where she was admitted a patient in the Emergency Unit.

Her condition is listed as critical. Statements have not yet been  taken due to both parents being traumatised, police said.

This incident comes less than 24 hours of another similar incident at Mahaica, ECD where the victim was crushed to death.
Twenty-month-old Adan Kiritpaul was on Saturday afternoon crushed to death by a truck driven by his father at their Mahaica East Coast Demera residence.

According to investigations, the driver was slowly navigating his truck out of his yard when he looked out his rear view mirror and saw something between the lorry’s wheels.

He immediately stopped and disembarked; and discovered his son lying motionless and his head crushed, police said in a release. The police arrived shortly after and commenced processing the scene. The body of the child was taken to the Mahaicony Public Hospital and an official pronouncement of death was made.  A post mortem is expected shortly while the driver is in custody assisting with the investigation.
