Trio to be charged with Henry Boys’ murders

The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has advised that three persons be charged with the murders of Joel and Isaiah Henry which occurred between September 5 and 6, 2020.

Police in a statement Thursday said that the suspects will appear in court on Friday, January 15, 2021.
Reports are that the trio to be charged are Anil Sanchara, Vinod Gopaul and Akash Singh. Sanchara and Gopaul, are to be charged jointly while Singh will be charged separately for murder.

The Henry boys, Isaiah, 16, and Joel, 18 were found mutilated in the Cotton Tree Backdam, West Coast Berbice (WCB) 24 hours after they left their homes to pick coconuts.

The murder of the cousins resulted in several fiery protests on the WCB as family, friends and villagers demanded Justice.
The Guyana Police Force has been under tremendous pressure to bring the perpetrators of the heinous crime to justice.
