Rape accused assaulted by fellow inmates at Lusignan Prison

A rape accused stationed at the Georgetown Prison ‘B’ (Holding Bay- Lusignan) was on Wednesday night assaulted by five other prisoners.

A video surfaced on social media with the prisoner, clad only in his underwear being beaten repeatedly about his body by fellow inmates.
In a statement, the Guyana Prison Service said that the matter has since been investigated by the Officer-in-Charge and the five prisoners have since been transferred to the Georgetown Prison (Camp Street) where they will be charged departmentally for their conduct.
