It was November 29th. A prophetic Village Voice column. Title. The invisible hand. And from The invisible hand, a visible snippet. “President Trump frantically made calls. But unknown to him, internal forces wanted him out. Wanted him out like yesterday. An unmitigated disaster he is. The Republicans obstructionist to 25th Amendment. He must be stopped for the better of him, the country and the rest of the World”. But what The invisible hand spoke of. We all saw. We all knew. We long concluded. Trump is a danger to himself. To America. The wider world. And he must be stopped. NOW.
And from The invisible hand. Echoes of regime change were heard. Regime change in America. Regime change for the Covid vaccines. The Covid vaccines that were developed in record time. Under President Trump’s watch. Trump’s ticket to a second term. But this I am convinced was intentionally delayed. To keep Trump out. And I welcomed it. Many welcomed it. The world welcomed it. We welcomed it because we recognised Trump was not fit for office. Should have been long removed on account of this. Amendment 25. Amendment 25 alluded to by The Invisible hand. But Amendment 25 isn’t a vanishing cream. It cannot make President Trump magically disappear. It’s a political process. Initiated by the Vice President. Supported by Cabinet. But if the President contest the findings. Then a vote in the House is required. Two third majority. A vote in the Senate. Two third majority. But the Republicans control the Senate. They would never vote to remove their President. They will let him off the hook. AGAIN. They did drop the impeachment ball. Enabling the propagation of conspiracy theories. And like a cancer. It metastasised. To the MAGA mob brains. If they have any. The symptoms unleashed in the Capitol.
January 6th was advertised worldwide. But no one informed the Capitol Hill Police. But in any case. No one needed to. For their job description was singular. Shoot. Kill. Teargas. Beat to a pulp. Black Lives Matter peaceful protesters. Trump insurrectionists exempted. Capitol Hill Police took selfies with them. The barricades, gates and doors to the Capitol Building opened. By conspirator police hands. And those impatient with the slow pace of entry. Smashed widows. Kicked in Doors. As lawmakers scurried in fear. Packed in an unknown bunker like sardine. With offices vacated. One insipid insurrectionist proceeded to remove. Nancy Pelosi‘s office name plate. Sat in her office he did. Feet on table, muddying state secrets. Stole many. Why? He pays taxes. A glass of coke he took. Likely had coke on glass. And before he departed. The obligatory selfie. Uploaded onto social media. Then he left. Left a menacing message behind. “WE WILL NOT BACK DOWN”.
But even before the insurrectionists invaded Capitol Hill. The Insurrectionist in Chief did incite them. In the demagogue they trust. You must show strength to take back our country. Make America Great Again. I will be with you. A ginormous lie that was. For as soon as Operation Warp Speed set off. He ran to the safety of the White House. To be served tea. As his imbecilic insurrectionists cause mayhem. But let’s press reverse on this political drama of race, white privileges and double standards. Reverse to the point just before the MAGA mob set off and the Coward in Chief ran off to his bunker. Let’s pause at Rudye Giuliani. Rudye no typo. For he did sweat hair-dye. And yes he instructed the terrorist mob to have trial by combat. And the meaning and intent was clear. Deadly! Those who ‘stole’ their election must be visited by the MAGA judges, juries and EXECUTIONERS.
But as I pensively observe this murderous MAGA mob on a 65 inch. Two thoughts overcame me. Like a dark depressive shadow. First. The contrast in treatment between Black and White. Not new! Now we can record them and replay it for their jaundice eyes. Black Lives Matter peaceful protesters were not cuddled. The murderous MAGA white mob were. The President elect. Became President correct. When he said it. Second thought. Sarah-Ann Lynch, the American Ambassador to Guyana. For it is International norm that diplomats be apolitical. They should not meddle in the host country’s internal affairs. Both the ABC&EU ambassadors aborted. Third rated ambassadors dictating to a third world country. But now Sarah-Ann Lynch has inexplicably pressed mute. Taken the 5th on the White politics in the Land of MAGA. No condemnation by ABC&EU. No Joint statements. Likely they have exhaled all the joints during our elections. For even as five now lie dead. Even as the Capitol Building. Built by the sweat, blood and tears of my ancestors. Was invaded and destroyed. Sarah-Ann Lynch said nothing. Absolutely nothing. So sadly this too has highlighted the contrast in treatment between Black and White. Not new.
But I must express my opinion of the Republicans. It will not be diplomatic. For I’m no Mr. Congeniality. My opinion can be read or skip-over. They are all self serving cowards. A naked gang of political prostitutes. Offered up their political bodies to President Trump. For political pittance. They are all anencephalic apologists. They are all unapologetic sycophants. For my politics speak to country first, party second and personal ambitions third. Not the Republicans mantra. They selfishly focused on personal ambitions. The big fish became unhooked. And unhinged. To start a political inferno. For this they are all culpable. If they had shown testicular fortitude and not indulge his foolery. This wouldn’t have happened. But even before they turned a blind eye on the post-election events. They could have made the impeached one. Gone with the wind. But the Retrumblicans protected him. They set the blood-thirty twitter lion free. They empowered him. And the consequences visited America on the January 6th.
For The invisible hand also brought to the fore. “ It is without doubt that President Trump will go down in history as the worse America President ever. Worse than James Buchanan, and he was bad. Everything he lay his hands on, he destroyed. He destroyed America’s economy. Obama’s economy. He destroyed racial cohesion. He destroyed America’s standing on the Global Stage. Global Leaders relegated to Global Lackeys. He destroyed America’s Human rights record, dragging crying babies from their mothers and locking them away in cages. He destroyed America’s relationship with her Allies. He inexplicably withdrew America from the WHO at the time of a pandemic. He took America out of the Paris Accord. He destroyed the Iranian deal, coming inches away from war. He started an economic war with China for which his farmers paid a heavy economic price. He mismanaged the Covid pandemic. More than 260,000 now lie in Covid graves. More than 12 million once had the virus in their bodies. Some in their lungs. He destroyed America’s democracy. North Korea made a mockery of him.
