An ongoing investigation into the fatal accident has thus far revealed that Jordan while attempting to overtake a car ended up in the path of the pickup, resulting in a collision.

The pickup, which was driven by a 51-year-old resident of Bath Settlement, West Coast Berbice, was proceeding north along the western side of the highway when the accident occurred.

“The motorcyclist along with the pillion rider who has been identified as a female 29-year-old resident of La Retraite, WBD, was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation where he was pronounced dead on arrival and the female was admitted a patient,” the police said.

The driver of the truck underwent the breathalyzer test and was found to be above the legal limit of alcohol intake with .77% and .70% micrograms.

He is in custody assisting with the investigation.
