Technicians install a casing on the well (GWI)

Some 1200 residents of Culvert City, Lethem, Region Nine and surrounding communities will benefit from improved water supply as the Guyana Water Incorporated (GWI) has completed the drilling of a new well in the community.

The Water Company in a statement Thursday said, its technicians are currently working to interconnect the new well, which was drilled by GWI’s in-house team of engineers and technicians, to the existing water supply system Culvert City.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Water Company, Shaik Baksh, said he was satisfied with the new well which was drilled over a five-day period to a depth of 80 meters.
