Mabaruma miner stabbed, chopped at Arakaka

A 35-year-old miner of Mabaruma, Barima-Waini (Region One) was on Friday afternoon attaked and stabbed while on his way to work on the Access Road at 14 Miles Arakaka, Region One,

According to a police report, the victim, Michael ‘Puppy’ Lynch, was heading to work while the suspect and another identifiable male were imbibing when he was attacked from behind and stabbed the victim to his left side of his lower back and chopped him on his left wrist and face with a cutlass.

Lynch made his way to the Arakaka Health Centre where he was seen and examined by the Medex on duty and admitted.

The matter was reported to the Arakaka Police Outpost after which ranks of the Guyana Police Force visited and interviewed the victim who was later referred to the Pakera District Hospital for additional medical attention.

Lynch’s condition is regarded as serious but stable. No arrests have been made.
