This is the time when our Muslim brothers and sisters celebrate the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad. During this period Muslims around the world spend time praying and giving alms to the poor and needy.

This gesture of love is worthy of emulation and has the propensity to move us away from abhorrence which hinders progress and development in our communities.

Therefore, as we emphasize the spirit of caring and sharing love, let us contemplate on ways to improve the general aesthetics of our beloved Garden City, as well as Guyana, and the world of which we are all apart.

One such is getting involved in community programmes and activities, which must focus on helping Georgetown to retain the name “The Garden City. “This will require unity, understanding, cooperation, willingness, consciousness raising and the will to work together at
every level of society.

Once again, Happy Youman Nabi.
His worship the Mayor Pandit Ubraj Narine
