A photograph of what appears to be a covered dead body being transported was shared widely on social media along with the claim.

However, in a statement subsequentlyy, the GPHC denied the allegation. “We wish to assure the general public that no such incident occurred at the GPHC. The post is entirely fabricated and fallacious, and Management strongly condemns this mischievous and reckless action,” the GPHC stated.

“Once again, we wish to appeal to the general public to desist from making false claims that peddle misinformation and induce panic. We urge persons to act responsibly and refrain from sharing this misleading post.”

The GPHC also used the occasion to encourage members of the public to remind the public to adhere to the Ministry of Health’s guidelines; wear their masks correctly; wash or sanitize their hands frequently and practice physical distancing.
