Dead: Kerwin Schultz, 41

Police are investigating the death of dredge owner and camp manager at the Baramita, North West District, 41-years-old Kerwin Schultz who died on September 20, at Polvotario Backdam on the Venezuelan border.

According to police reports, around 10:00 hours on Sunday, Schultz and two of his employees
left in a tractor which was travelling close behind a skidder and, whilst ascending a hill, the skidder encountered difficulties. It began to roll back at a fast rate of speed.

Observing this, Schultz jumped out the tractor and fell onto the roadway. Right after, the skidder collided into the tractor and the back wheel of the skidder ran over Schultz’s side causing him to receive injuries. He later succumbed to these injuries before receiving medical attention.

The body was transported to Baramita and subsequently to Georgetown where it was taken to Sandy’s Funeral Home awaiting a post mortem examination.
