– car damaged, assailant arrested

Field Officer attached to the Guyana Water Inc, Alwyn Weatherspoon was on Wednesday morning attacked at Grass Field, Enmore East Coast Demerara and his vehicle damaged by an assailant who is in police custody.

Weatherspoon said that he was busy doing his duties in the area when the man attacked him with a cutlass. He managed to escape, but not before his attacker damaged his vehicle. Weatherspoon believes the attack was inspired by the current political and social unrest that has gripped the country. Police are investigating the matter.
