Toddler in Pomeroon chopping spree succumbs

…15-year-old suspect arrested after attempted suicide

A three-year-old boy who was wounded when a teenage boy went berserk Thursday afternoon in the Pomeroon, killing his brother-in-law  and wounding several others has succumbed to his injuries.

The teen had killed Ramdat Singh

at Bat Creek Upper  Pomeroon River, Essequibo. In a release Friday police said a party of policemen while visiting the area to conduct further investigations arrested the suspect, a 15 year old male, in the presence of his father.

Following the arrest, it was observed that the  suspect had a stab wound to the chest area and a cut around his neck and admitted that they were self-inflicted in an attempt to kill himself.

Suspect in the presence of his father was taken to the Charity Police Station and afterwards escorted to the Charity Hospital where he was seen and examined by a Doctor on duty and treated for his injuries and sent away.

Meanwhile, police said too that Friday afternoon also Kissoon Williams, age 3 years old, who was stabbed by the suspect died at the Suddie Hospital intensive Care Unit. The body was escorted to the Suddie Hospital Mortuary awaiting post mortem examination.

Checks were also made at the Suddie Hospital and  two of the injured were listed as critical and in the ICU while the other two are listed as stable.
