Miners nabbed after beating, robbing employer of raw gold …say they were not being paid for work done

Three miners who allegedly beaten and robbed their employer of a quantity of raw gold at Sandhill/Oku Landing on Friday have been caught and confessed to the crime.

Police said in a release said that the stolen gold has been recovered and the victim Adam Da Silva , 62, of Boa Vista, Brazil/Sandhill Landing who suffers a fractured leg and multiple lacerations about his body, is admitted at the Bartica Regional Hospital in a stable condition.

The suspects, ages 19, 20 and 23, and residents of East Bank Essequibo and Essequibo Coast respectively told investigators that they committed the act because of not being paid for work done.
