Young cop dies after crashing into auto sales shop

A police sergeant is dead after his car careened into several vehicles and spare parts which were being showcased in front of a business place on the Land of Plenty Public Road, Essequibo Coast Sunday afternoon
Police said in a release that the accident involved motor car PRR 5764 driven by Police Sergeant #21873 Lakhan Persaud a 25-year-old of Lot 5 Columbia Village, Essequibo Coast and attached to the Police Finance Office, Force Headquarters, Eve Leary.

Enquiries disclosed that the vehicle was proceeding south on the eastern lane reportedly at a fast rate of speed when the driver lost control and collided with several motor vehicles and spare parts which were being showcased in front of the business premises of Balram Kawal’s Auto Sales. He was rushed to the Suddie Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
