Police are investigating a hit-and-run fatal accident which occurred on Sunday evening, June 21, 2020 on Enmore Public Road, East Coast Demerara.

The accident involved a motor vehicle number and driver unknown and two males whose names and other particulars are also so far unknown, police said in a statement Sunday night. One of the victims was discovered motionless on the northern edge of the road and the other, in a semi-conscious condition on the grass parapet. Both of them were seen with severe injuries about their heads and bodies, the release noted.

They were taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation by police ranks where one was pronounced dead on arrival and the other admitted a patient in the Accident and Emergency Unit. The Guyana Police Force is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the victims and for any information that will trace the vehicle involved and the apprehension of the driver.
