A five-year-old child is now recovering after she underwent a surgery at the Linden Hospital Complex yesterday afternoon to remove a warhead from her throat. According to a police report a small hole was seen in the child’s throat.

Police investigators later found out that her uncle was given a gun by a friend and while attempting to remove the magazine the gun went off and the stray bullet hit the child and lodged in her throat.

The suspect Shemar Caesar called ‘Mama’, a 24-year-old Taxi driver of Half Mile, Wismar Linden was arrested yesterday and escorted to his apartment, where a search was conducted but nothing of evidential value was found. He was later escorted to the police station where he related that the gun went off and subsequently causing injury to the five-year-old child who lives in the apartment next to his.
