60-year-old Ray’s body found in bushy area in Linden

The human remains for a man who was identified as Ray Bryan Roache, age 60 who resided at Phase Four Squatting Area, Amelia’s Ward Linden was found by police ranks at about 09:30hrs Friday morning.

The dead man’s brother made a report to the Amelia’s Ward Police Outpost which stated that he received information that the human remains, suspected to be that of his elder brother was seen at a broken-down camp in a bushy area.

A police report stated that a man whose given name is Neil Ashby while collecting water from the area on with another man by the name of Dwight Forde on September 22nd, 2023 discovered the remains.

Dwight made a short video recording with his cellphone. Ashby then told Forde that he suspected that it was the remains of Ray Roache and he would try to locate his relatives and inform them.

According to Ashby, it was only on yesterday that he was able to contact one of Ray’s relatives at Cinderella City and tell her what he had seen more than three months ago.

Police visited the scene at about 12:00 hrs today, in the company of Forde and Ashby.

The remains were found under a broken-down camp and the deceased was lying dressed in long black pants and a black T-shirt. An Identification card was found next to the deceased along with a cell phone. The card was identified by the man’s brother.

Forde, Ashby and the man’s brother are at Mackenzie Police Station assisting with the investigations.
