Police investigating circumstances surrounding alleged murder of a father by son

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding an alleged murder committed on 47-year-old Eyone Hernandez a labourer of lot 509 C Field Sophia, which occurred on June 18th, 2023 by his 20-year-old son who is in custody.
Enquiries disclosed that the victim is a Venezuelan national whose son allegedly suffers from a mental illness had an argument over food at the said date when the suspect armed himself with a knife and dealt the victim a stab to the back of his left thigh. An alarm was raised by the victim’s wife causing the suspect to be detained with the knife in his possession while EMT from Alberttown Fire Service responded to the scene, and the victim was pronounced dead.
One stab wound was observed to the back left thigh. No other wounds was observed on his body. The deceased was escorted to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home awaiting PME. Investigations continue
