The Republic of Ghana Minister for Trade and Industry, Mr. Kobina Hammond and a private-public delegation are to further explore possibilities for trade and investment between Ghana and Guyana.
The Government of Guyana in a release stated the delegation will be here from May 19-24 and Hammond is accompanied by other Ministers Bryan Acheampong, who has responsibility for Food and Agriculture, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, who has responsibility for Education, and Deputy Ministers of Trade and Industry and of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration and a number of private sector representatives.
Ghana will launch a Chamber of Commerce on Monday May 22 at 9 a.m. The ceremony will take place at the Amici building on the third floor.
During their stay the delegation will meet with Ministers of the Government of Guyana.
The Government’s release did not say whether the delegation will meet with the Parliamentary Opposition who holds one seat less than the Government in the National Assembly, and as would be expected, consistent with the Article 13 of the Constitution of Guyana that mandates an inclusionary approach to governance in society.
