STEM education is gaining worldwide recognition for its importance in preparing the next generation for the future. In Guyana, STEMGuyana’s Learning Pod program has been making great strides in promoting STEM education in rural communities. Miss Vanessa House from Tabitinga, Lethem has been named Pod Leader of the Month for her exemplary leadership abilities and contribution to the success of the program in her community.
Project Analyst, Ms. Akeisha Cave, commented on Miss House’s contribution, “As a team member, Ms House is highly communicative and is willing to learn new techniques and methods of teaching delivery and topics across the board. We are proud to have such a positively motivated leader on board.”
Miss House has been an asset to the Learning Pod Programme through her ability to teach and engage students. She believes that students should have fun while learning and that socialization is important for their overall development. Her students have developed academically and socially through her dedication and leadership.
Miss House expressed her gratitude for the Learning Pod initiative and its impact on her community, saying, “STEM Guyana’s Learning Pod initiative is truly a blessing to our community, which might be considered far-fetched to many. We are pleased to be able to make similar strides as our counterparts in any other region of Guyana.”
