Gordon Moseley is a name that has become synonymous with quality journalism and media in Guyana. He is the founder and chief news editor of NewsSource Guyana, an online news platform that provides timely and accurate coverage of local and regional issues. He is also a radio announcer and morning host on 94.1 FM, a popular station that offers entertainment and information to its listeners.
This year marks a significant milestone for Moseley, as he celebrates 25yrs in journalism, 10 years of News Source Guyana, and 10 years on radio. He launched his news website in 2013, after working as a news anchor and news editor with WRHM Capitol News, a nightly television newscast in Georgetown1. He was also asked to join 94.1 FM as a morning host that same year, despite having no prior experience in live radio.
Moseley rose to the challenge and proved himself to be a versatile and talented broadcaster, who can engage his audience with his voice and personality. Moseley’s journey has not been without challenges. Recently he filed a libel lawsuits seeking almost $100 million against the Guyana Times and one of its columnists, former Minister of Health Dr. Leslie Ramsammy. In 2008, under then President Jagdeo’s government, Gordon, a young Capitol News reporter, was banned from entering the Office of the President, in New Garden Street, and State House, on Main Street.
In spite of the challenges Gordon has remained steadfast in his commitment to journalism ethics and professionalism. He has also shown resilience and adaptability in the face of changing media landscapes. Moseley’s achievements have earned him recognition and respect from his peers and the public. He has been voted as the #1 journalist and media personality in Guyana by several polls. He has also interviewed nearly all of the prominent local figures and many of the international leaders who visit Guyana.
As he celebrates his 10th anniversary on radio and online, Moseley can look back with pride at how far he has come from his humble beginnings in Linden, where he started his career as a reporter/technical producer for the Linweek News while still in high school. He can also look forward with optimism at what lies ahead for him as he continues to pursue his passion for journalism and media.
