…as fisherman gets stab during argument
A 24-year-old fisherman from No. 65 Village, Corentyne is currently nursing stab wounds to the chest, while his 22-year-old attacker is on the run from the police after an argument during a fishing trip turned violent.
Injured is Kevin Kewley called Kello of Lot 12 No. 65 Village, Corentyne, Berbice.
The Guyana Police Force, in a statement, said Kewley and the accused were on a fishing boat at No. 65 Village Koker on Monday, December 27 when an argument erupted at around 8:00hrs.
It is alleged that the accused used a sharp object and stabbed Kewley to the mid-section of his chest and on his left hand.
The 24-year-old victim was later rushed to the Skeldon Public Hospital by his brother Melven Kewley. He was subsequently transferred to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital, where he was admitted a patient for further treatment.
Checks were made for the suspect, however, the police were informed that he may have fled to Suriname.
