The International Decade for People of African Descent Assembly Guyana (IDPADA-G will on Friday host a grand sale of African Guyanese arts and craft, processed food, self-care, home décor, and much more at the Square of the Revolution.
Codenamed ‘Ujamaa’, IDPADA-G said the event will bring the ultimate shopping event to Guyanese. The event will open at 08:00hrs and will close at 15:00hrs. ‘Ujamaa’ is slated to be a grand day of exhibition and sale promoting African Guyanese businesses in arts and crafts, processed food, self-care, home décor, and much more, the organization said.

‘Ujamaa’ – a Swahili word meaning ‘Cooperative Economics’ is the fourth Principle of Kwanzaa and calls on people of African Descent to support our businesses and share in work and wealth.
The principle of Ujamaa promotes self-reliance, rejects exploitation, and engages in cooperation for the community’s common good. The IDPADA-G Economic and Youth Committee envision this event as an annual one that will improve the livelihood of business owners, especially those impacted by the pandemic. The ‘Ujamaa’ marketplace will transform the Square into a vibrant market, filled with live drumming and food. Admission is free, and all COVID19 guidelines will be in effect; shoppers MUST wear their masks, sanitize, and come out and support the over thirty businesses as they display and sell their products
