Raids at Georgetown, Lusignan prisons unearth contraband

Below is the police press release
…….
Between 07:00 and 10:10hrs on 2021/07/21 a search was conducted at the Georgetown Holding Bay and Lusignan Prison by a party of ranks from the Guyana Prison Service, the Guyana Police Force and the Guyana Defence Force.

The following items were found in Holding Bay 1:

Two cellphone case.

7 Lighters
3 Scissors
A quantity of Ziplock bags.
1 cellphone
1 cellphone housing
2 cellphone batteries
1 cell phone charger
A quantity of wires
10 small transparent ziplock of suspected cannabis amounting to 3 grams.
2 metal objects

Holding Bays 3 and 4
Small quantity of home made wine
12 improvised weapons
14 Lighters
2 Scissors
1 cell phone charger
One cellphone cable
A quantity of wires
1 small transparent ziplock of suspected cannabis amounting to 1/2 gram.
