Isaiah Henry’s brother among four remanded for the murder of Haresh Singh 

Nine months after 17-year-old Haresh Singh was found dead, four men have been charged with his murder – among them, brother of Isaiah Henry, who along with cousin Joel Henry, was found gruesomely murdered at Cotton Tree, Backdam, West Coast Berbice.

The Guyana Police Force, in a statement on Tuesday, disclosed that 29-year-old Philip Anderson called ‘Ratman’ of Lot 25 # 3 Village, West Coast Berbice; 27-year-old Joel Gittins called ‘Bolo’ of Jangotown, East Coast Demerara; 27-year-old Gladston Henry called Gladwin Henry, aka ‘Soldierman’ No. 3 Village, West Coast Berbice and 21-year-old Charles Scott called ‘Bucko’ of Lot 29 Jarvis Street Rosignol, Berbice were charged with the murder of Singh.

Singh was killed and his motorcycle burnt on September 9, 2020 at Number 3 Village, West Coast Berbice, days after the mutilated bodies of the Henry cousins were discovered.

According to the Police, the charge was read to the accused persons by Magistrate Peter Hugh at the Fort Wellington Magistrate Court during a virtual hearing on Tuesday. The case has been adjourned to July, 2021. It will be transferred to the Blairmont Magistrate Court for report.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Police Force said it received legal advice to charge the four men.
