Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Dr. Keith Rowley has tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently in isolation and under medical supervision. According to the T&T Government, Rowley began experiencing flu-like symptoms on Monday evening and was subsequently tested for COVID-19.

The announcement was also made on the Prime Minister’s official Facebook page. Scores of well-wishers have been praying for the swift recovery of the country’s leader.

According to T&T media, the diagnosis came mere hours before the Prime Minister was set to receive his first COVID-19 vaccine dose.

The twin-island has recorded over 8,170 total confirmed cases of COVID-19 with over 140 deaths.
