GEORGETOWN, GUYANA, November 6, 2026 – Female Founders Inc. (FFI) has announced plans to launch Femme Biz Magazine, a new annual digital business publication aimed at increasing the visibility of female-founded enterprises in Guyana and connecting women entrepreneurs with investment, financing and business development opportunities.
The publication, titled Femme Biz Magazine: The Rise of Female-Founded Businesses, is scheduled to make its debut on March 1, 2027. It will feature women building and expanding businesses across Guyana’s economy, highlighting their commercial achievements, growth potential and contributions to employment and wealth creation.
According to Female Founders Inc., the initiative is intended to address a gap in how women entrepreneurs are represented and recognised within Guyana’s business community. The organisation wants to position female-founded businesses as serious commercial enterprises deserving of greater attention from investors, financial institutions, policymakers and corporate decision-makers.
Founder of Female Founders Inc., Kerensa Bart, said the magazine was developed out of a desire to change the conversation surrounding women in business.
“Femme Biz was born out of a conviction that the narrative surrounding women in business must change — and that recognition alone is no longer enough,” Bart said.
She argued that while female entrepreneurs are frequently recognised for their resilience and ability to overcome challenges, insufficient attention is paid to the economic value of the enterprises they establish and manage.
“Women are not simply overcoming obstacles; they are building enterprises, creating employment, generating wealth, attracting investment and making significant contributions to our economies,” Bart said.
She stressed that women-owned businesses should be evaluated for their commercial potential, ability to expand and capacity to compete in domestic and international markets.
The inaugural edition will cover female entrepreneurship across several sectors, including banking, finance, professional services, science and technology, healthcare, agriculture, manufacturing, mining, energy, construction, tourism, hospitality, retail and the creative industries.
The publication will also examine issues affecting business growth, including access to capital, investment readiness, financial management, market expansion and wealth creation.
Bart said her ambition is for the publication to become a recognised resource for institutions seeking information about women-owned businesses and potential investment opportunities.
“My vision is for Femme Biz to become a resource that financial institutions, investors, policymakers and corporate decisionmakers actively turn to when seeking to understand, engage with and invest in women-owned businesses,” she said.
The organisation hopes that greater visibility will encourage stronger relationships between female entrepreneurs and financial institutions, including new opportunities for financing and strategic partnerships.
Government welcomes initiative
Minister of Human Services and Social Security, Dr. Vindhya Vasini Persaud, welcomed the announcement, describing women’s financial independence and entrepreneurial participation as important components of national economic development.
“When women enter business, they do more than earn an income—they create opportunities, strengthen communities, and help shape the economic future of a nation,” Persaud said.
The minister pointed to her work through the Women’s Innovation and Investment Network (WIIN) Programme, which supports women’s training, entrepreneurship and access to economic opportunities.
Persaud said financial independence provides women with greater choice and control over their lives while enabling them to contribute to employment creation and investment.
She also expressed an interest in collaborating with the publication to highlight women who have achieved significant business milestones and those creating opportunities for others.
Building stronger business connections
Milcah Lynch Joseph, FFI’s Managing Partner in Guyana, said the initiative would provide recognition for women whose businesses have developed without receiving comparable public attention.
“This magazine is our definitive response to years of watching brilliant Guyanese women build in silence, scaling without spotlight, leading without leverage,” Joseph said.
She described the publication as an opportunity to improve the visibility and commercial positioning of women-owned enterprises.
Tracy Khan, the organisation’s US Managing Partner, also welcomed the initiative, saying it would provide an important platform for sharing the accomplishments and experiences of women entrepreneurs.
“Representation matters, and Femme Biz creates space for women to be seen, heard and inspired,” Khan said.
Although Femme Biz will publish annually, FFI plans to maintain an active digital presence throughout the year through its website and social media platforms. The magazine will be available free of charge online and is intended to reach audiences in Guyana, the wider Caribbean and international markets.
Female Founders Inc. said the magazine will form part of a broader programme of activities designed to strengthen entrepreneurship, financial capability, investment readiness and business development among women.
The organisation intends to use these initiatives to improve connections between female business owners, mentors, investors, corporate partners and development institutions.
Local publishing company joins initiative
Female Founders Inc. has also announced a publishing partnership with Creative Marketing Co. (CMC), a locally owned company led by Lesa Fleming.
The partnership will support the production of the magazine, combining business reporting and storytelling with professional publishing and editorial services.
FFI said the collaboration also reflects its intention to support local creative industries while developing a publication capable of reaching business audiences locally and internationally.
The inaugural launch is expected to bring together women entrepreneurs, investors, financial institutions, corporate leaders, government representatives and development partners.
Further details on the featured businesses and launch activities will be announced ahead of the March 2027 debut.
Female Founders Inc. is inviting businesses, financial institutions, corporate organisations and development partners to explore sponsorship, strategic partnership and promotional opportunities associated with the publication.
