The Management of the Cheddi Jagan International Airport Corporation (CJIAC) is proud to announce that the airport has retained its position as the No. 1 airport in Latin America and the Caribbean, according to the Q3/2026 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey results. Administered by Airports Council International (ACI), the ASQ programme is a leading global benchmark for measuring passenger satisfaction with airport services.

This recognition reflects passenger feedback across key service indicators, including the overall travel experience, check-in and security processing, facility cleanliness, thermal comfort, signage, and the helpfulness and courtesy of frontline personnel.

Commenting on the achievement, CJIAC Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Ramesh Ghir, described the airport’s continued regional ranking as a significant milestone for the entire airport community. He credited the achievement to the dedication of frontline staff, security personnel, immigration officers and airline partners, emphasising that as passenger traffic continues to grow, CJIAC remains committed to providing a high standard of service to travellers using Guyana’s international gateway.

Minister of Public Utilities and Aviation, the Honourable Deodat Indar, noted that the recognition reflects the Government’s continued investment in aviation infrastructure and its commitment to strengthening Guyana’s position as a regional aviation hub. He emphasised that these investments, alongside ongoing efforts to improve airport services, are essential to delivering a positive experience for passengers.

The achievement comes as CJIAC continues to advance infrastructure improvements to accommodate growing international passenger volumes. These developments include rehabilitation of the runways and taxiways; expanded terminal capacity; modernised boarding bridges and automated baggage systems; and airfield upgrades, including improvements to security infrastructure.

Further enhancements to commercial spaces and executive lounges, together with developments in the surrounding hospitality sector, are contributing to the airport’s ongoing modernisation efforts.
