Following a series of international engagements celebrating three decades in fashion, entrepreneurship and service, Sonia Noel is bringing the focus of her 30 Years of Style, Purpose & Impact anniversary back home to Guyana this October with activities centred on entrepreneurship, love in action and creating opportunities for the next generation.
At the centre of the activities will be the Women in Business Expo 30 Special Edition, held on October 24 and 25 at Pegasus Hotel Guyana, bringing together 30 entrepreneurs for two days of business, networking, shopping, fashion and entrepreneurial development.
The weekend will be preceded by the Love Revolution relaunch on Friday, October 23, while Designers’ Quest in-person auditions will be held at Pegasus Hotel Guyana on October 25 and 26, providing aspiring and emerging designers an opportunity to take an important step in their creative journey.
Together, the initiatives reflect a central theme of Noel’s anniversary year: celebrating the journey while using the experience, relationships and platforms built over three decades to create opportunities for others.
In September, Noel embarked on a series of engagements in the United States as part of her 30th anniversary journey, with activities in Washington, D.C., Atlanta, New York and Virginia.
In Washington, D.C., Noel was celebrated at a special reception hosted at the Embassy of Guyana, where her three-decade journey was highlighted through fashion, conversation and a signing of her latest book, Vision Life Book.
Her Washington engagements also included participation in activities surrounding the Congressional Black Caucus Annual Legislative Conference, where she showcased her designs and connected with leaders, entrepreneurs, creatives and members of the diaspora.
The anniversary journey continued to Atlanta, where Noel participated in another special fashion and cultural experience and was recognised for her contribution to fashion, creativity and community.
In New York, she continued the anniversary celebrations with members of the Guyanese and Caribbean diaspora and supporters who have followed her work over the years. Her September U.S. engagements also took her to Virginia, where she participated in a media engagement and shared more of the story and purpose behind her 30-year journey.
For Noel, taking the anniversary into different cities reinforced one of the most important lessons of her career: no meaningful journey is built alone.
“Every place has added something to my journey. Every relationship, opportunity, challenge and person who believed in me has contributed to where I am today. That is why this anniversary cannot simply be about looking back at what I have accomplished. It must also be about asking how I can use what I have learned and the relationships I have built to create opportunities for others,” Noel said.
Women in Business Expo was launched by Noel in 2016 as a platform to create greater opportunities and visibility for women entrepreneurs, especially those starting businesses and introducing new products and services to the marketplace.
A decade later, the initiative returns for its special anniversary edition at Pegasus Hotel Guyana, a valued partner that has supported the initiative from its inception and continues to support the vision.
Expo 30 will bring together 30 entrepreneurs, including women who participated during earlier editions of the Expo as well as a new generation of business owners.
Several entrepreneurs who participated in previous editions have since grown and expanded their businesses, making their journeys an important part of the story being celebrated this year.
Visitors will have an opportunity to discover a diverse selection of unique products and services, meet the entrepreneurs behind the brands and begin their Christmas shopping while directly supporting local businesses.
The Expo is being designed as an engaging business, networking and shopping experience, with pop up shops, fashion displays, entrepreneurial stories and other special features throughout the weekend.
“Thirty years as an entrepreneur has taught me so much. I have made mistakes, experienced challenges and disappointments and also had tremendous triumphs. One of the most fulfilling parts of this journey, however, has been creating a stage for other people to be seen, to grow and to believe that what they envision is possible,” Noel said.

Preparing Entrepreneurs for an AI-Driven Future
An important developmental component of Women in Business Expo 30 will be a special session for participating exhibitors with Dr. Anthony Q. Bowen, a professor at Grand Canyon University, creator of the Knowledge Structuring Model (KSM™) and the developer behind Noel’s new website.
Dr. Bowen will work directly with the entrepreneurs, helping them better understand how Artificial Intelligence can be used in business, how the digital landscape is changing and how they can position their businesses, products and services to remain visible and competitive in an increasingly AI-driven world.
The session forms part of Noel’s commitment to ensuring that participation in the Expo extends beyond the opportunity to showcase and sell products and services. She wants exhibitors to leave the experience with new knowledge, practical tools and greater awareness of emerging opportunities for business growth.
“For me, the Expo has always been about more than giving entrepreneurs a table to display their products. It is about exposure, connections, learning and growth. Business is changing rapidly, particularly with AI, and I want our entrepreneurs to have access to information that can help them prepare for where business is going,” Noel said.
Dr. Bowen’s contribution will complement the wider Expo experience, which brings together entrepreneurship, networking, shopping, business development and collaboration as part of Noel’s 30th anniversary celebration.
Designers’ Quest Opens Doors for Emerging Designers
Another important component of the anniversary activities will focus on the next generation of fashion talent.
Designers’ Quest will host in-person auditions at Pegasus Hotel Guyana on October 25 and 26, and aspiring and emerging designers are being encouraged to come out, meet the team and audition for an opportunity to become part of the programme.
Designers’ Quest was created to identify emerging design talent and provide opportunities for development, mentorship, exposure and industry experience.
The initiative has a wider regional and international vision, with Noel seeking to build connections and opportunities for emerging designers from Guyana, the Caribbean and beyond.
For Noel, Designers’ Quest embodies what she wants this stage of her career to represent.
“Thirty years cannot only be about celebrating what I have accomplished. It must also be about opening doors for others. There are talented designers with dreams and tremendous potential who simply need an opportunity, guidance and someone willing to believe in them. I want to use what I have learned and the relationships I have built over these three decades to help create those pathways,” she said.
Love Revolution: Love Must Become Action
The October activities will also see the return of another initiative close to Noel’s heart.
On Friday, October 23, Noel will relaunch Love Revolution, an initiative she first introduced approximately 10 years ago.
Built around the belief that “Love is an action word,” Love Revolution encourages people to move beyond simply talking about love and consciously demonstrate it through their actions towards themselves, other people, their communities and the environment.
For Noel, her faith remains central to that message.
“For me, it begins with loving God, understanding the importance of loving ourselves and then allowing that love to influence how we treat each other and the world around us. Love must become action,” she said.
The original Love Revolution extended into schools and communities, and its message travelled beyond Guyana, with the signature Love Revolution pin reaching people in different parts of the world.
The renewed vision includes taking the initiative back into schools and communities, engaging young people, families, businesses, faith organisations and other sectors of society while expanding its reach through virtual and international activities.
Noel sees the relaunch not as a one-day activity but as the beginning of the next phase of a movement encouraging kindness, compassion, respect, service, unity and responsibility.

A Milestone With Purpose
The October activities form part of Noel’s wider 30 Years of Style, Purpose & Impact anniversary programme.
Rather than using the milestone simply to celebrate her career, Noel has been using the anniversary to create and strengthen initiatives around fashion, entrepreneurship, creativity, empowerment, culture, service and community.
The programme will continue beyond October, including a focus on men and boys in November, as well as other activities connected to the anniversary journey.
For now, Noel is encouraging the public to support the entrepreneurs participating in Women in Business Expo 30 and inviting aspiring and emerging designers to take advantage of the Designers’ Quest audition opportunity.
“When you purchase from a small business, recommend an entrepreneur, make a connection or simply encourage someone who is building something, you become part of that person’s journey,” Noel said. “That is the spirit of this anniversary. We celebrate how far we have come, but we must also continue creating opportunities for others to move forward.”
