By GHK Lall- In Part One the spotlight was on the visit to the Kingston Wharf by the MV Barima Commission of Inquiry (COI) members.  One commissioner was so moved by the advance preparation, the energy and cleverness, that was put into the Kingston Wharf that his dry response is for the record books: looks new.

What the man didn’t say was that a farce at full acceleration was so obvious, that even those who use Braille to get by would have no difficulty recognising it.  On the heels of that farce that is now an anancy story inside of a pig in a bag to deliver a six-for-a-nine to unsuspecting Guyanese, there is more in the works that seep out.  It is the focus of this second part.

MV Barima COI -Another PPP Farce

If the grounds of the wharf, where members of the public and passengers pass through daily were as sharp as a well-dressed Sunday churchgoer, the bond was in ever better condition.  People in the shipping business, who know it inside out due to long experience, shared that they never saw it so clean and correctly laid out in all of their years in having to deal with it.

It was the wharf first, now there’s that picture of impeccable beauty, the bond(s).  Now this is what exposes a cunning, unscrupulous PPP Govt, explains plenty.  This is why it kept delaying and dodging, with many sleazy games employed.  In effect, the dirty PPP Govt was giving itself time to purge what was objectionable, the eyesores that would have raised numerous questions, and left the COI members aghast at the state of marine travel in Guyana for poor Guyanese.

Fixup all that was wrong, out of place, that could leave the worst impression on the COI members.  Best to give them a 5-star restaurant or hotel appearance.  Sweep the grounds.  Clear the cobwebs.  Chase away the rats.  Paint the walls.  Fill the cracks.  Seal the holes in the roof.  Ensure all locks work.  Remove the garbage.  Hide evidence that could lead to trouble.  What a bunch of scummy operators!  This is how the PPP Govt honors 100 dead, pays tribute to a thousand hurting relatives.

So, what are the MV Barima COI members really examining, sifting through, to facilitate this thorough investigation of which Guyanese heard?  One man’s thoroughness is what most other men would urinate upon, then spit on to double down on the scorn.  Look at what’s happening with the COI into this national tragedy.

COI members are given what is tantamount to a brand-new white sheet without a blemish.  The Kingston Wharf and the bond(s) represent the edges of that sheet.  Guyanese don’t need much learning nor imagination to appreciate what this sick PPP Govt has waiting for them in the middle of that spotless, shiny, sheet.  This is not one farce.  It’s dozens of them in one.

These are the people that visit religious houses, make pious speeches.  These hypocrites enter houses with an onion in their kerchiefs, so they can generate tears alongside the grieving people inside.  Hug the hurting with one hand, stab them in the back with the other.  It’s a classic PPP maneuver, one that shows it at its best.  What is the COI going to get for witnesses and testimonials?  Most likely a batch of prepped and paid pros.

Some who see truth as a snake to be feared, a creature whose head must be stepped upon, crushed.  God Almighty! Is this MV Barima COI going to be a world class dud!  A COI that dropped dead before the first lap was done.  The members must be laughing themselves to tears.  They never had it so easy with free money.  In the usual PPP Govt tradition, Guyanese victimised again are left to overcome their disappointments, go on with life, however they can.  This isn’t a government.  The PPP is a goon squad.
